Here’s a list of all the places I covered this summer & fall! Sorry for the delay — Autumn really is the busiest time of the year. Time to get all caught up!

Eats

  • Serious Pie is Tom Douglas’s pizza joint, and boy is it fantastic. The boyfriend & I check it out and are blown away.
  • White Horse Trading Co is one of my favorite hidden spots in Seattle. It’s buried in Post Alley at Pike Place Market, close to Kell’s. If you want a low-key English pub night, this is the place.
  • Betty is on top of Queen Anne, and I’ve only been their for dessert, but it was absolutely delicious.
  • Honey Hole is a fantastic sandwich joint on Capitol Hill. It was one of the first restaurants I fell in love with in Seattle, and by far have the best fries I’ve tasted!
  • Paseo has two locations, in Fremont & Ballard, and is the #1 Cuban place in the city. Get there early — long lines & fantastic food means they run out before the end of the day.
  • Homegrown is the first restaurant here (that I know of) to cater to all of us who would rather eat local, sustainable foods. Great soups, salads, and sandwiches all fresh, organic, sustainable and mostly local.
  • Cupcake Royale opens a fourth shop on Capitol Hill! Yum yum.
  • Eat Local is an awesome resource for stocking up on local dishes you can keep in your freezer until you are too busy, tired, or lazy to cook!

Interests

  • McMenamins Edgefield is absolutely a favorite weekend getaway spot. Just outside of Portland, this converted poor farm hosts a hotel, tons of pubs and bars, a golf course, a gaggle of restaurants, and much more. Best place to relax, in my book.
  • Scarecrow Video is “like a video store Powell’s,” with tousands of movies, including rare & out of print films. Wednesdays are rent-one-get-one-free!
  • Link Light Rail Wooooooo! Seattle has light rail! How exciting!
  • The Yoga Tree is my favorite place for yoga in the city. Meditative and accepting, the variety of instructors, class times, methods, and levels makes it a  comfortable place to get flexible!
  • Lola Local is my tumblr & vlog where I talk about eating local, and provide resources & tips, plus pictures, recipes, links & more!
